My passion is people. My goal is to lead, serve, ​inform and share a platform to add a little light​ to​ this world.

brittany Decker is a WEEKDAY evening anchor at wvtm 13. She joined WVTM 13 in 2016.


Before coming to Birmingham, Brittany anchored the weekday morning news in Western Massachusetts, hosted the afternoon ​lifestyle show and was a member of the weather team. She also worked in New Haven, Connecticut, where she won the 2011 "MyTV9 ​Star" competition.


A native of Bristol, Connecticut, Brittany is a graduate of Western New England University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree ​in mass-media communications. She later completed courses at Mississippi State University for the broadcast meteorology ​program.


Brittany covers daily news and breaking news weekday EVENINGS on wvtm 13. Brittany has extensively reported on numerous ​stories that captured nationwide interest. Most recently, providing breaking coverage on the Natalee Holloway Case, where ​Joran Van der Sloot confessed to murder, the story of Carlee Russell, an Alabama woman who fabricated her own kidnapping, tHE ​WORLD GAMES IN ALABAMA, as well as the manhunt for an inmate Casey White and his alleged prison guard lover, Vicky White. She ​ALSO played a pivotal role in leading the breaking news coverage of Alabama Crimson Tide Coach Nick Saban's retirement.


brittany field anchors and leads weather coverage during MAJOR tornado and hurricane EVENTS all across the southeast. ​brittany has traveled to los angeles for coverage, interviewing blake shelton, travis tritt and john legend. she also covered the ​miss america pageant upon its return to nbc. weekly, Brittany covers stories in our community and spotlights “Community ​Champions” on WVTM 13. She Brittany was also a “Hearst Gives Back Service Award” winner for “Motivating Mentor.”


Brittany achieved the title of Miss Connecticut 2010 and participated in the national Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas. She also ​has achieved “Big Sister of the Year” for all of Alabama from the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization, where she now serves as a ​board member.


IN HER FREE TIME, BRITTANY RUNS MARATHONS... A WHOLE LOT OF THEM! SHE HAS COMPLETED AT LEAST ONE MARATHON EVERY MONTH FOR OVER 5 ​YEARS. OFTEN, RUNNING AND GIVING TIME TO CAUSES THAT EMPOWER THOSE WITH DISABILITIES TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. BRITTANY ALSO ​SINGS AND PLAYS GUITAR, TRAVELS, IS VERY INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY AND ENJOYS EMCEEING EVENTS, OH AND SHE LOVES ON HER DOG BAMA!
